For the previous 6 years, Joerns Healthcare have proudly sponsored and supported ‘Clubbing Together’, a golf society event held at Cirencester Golf Club, designed to raise valuable funds in aid of Parkinson’s UK.
The founder of this event, David Paul, who himself has Parkinson’s has some fairly bespoke needs at home and we at Joerns were in a great position to offer assistance. That assistance came in the form of an Oxford Elara overhead lift with full custom track system which contributes to David’s strong desire for on-going independence.
Our very own Technical Engineer, Rob Ordish supervised the overhead installation which has multi-room coverage and turn-table transition included, and in fact we have recently swapped out the 2-way unit for a 4-way version to make even lighter work of transfers.
Curtis Jordan, Marketing Manager for Joerns comments “I had the pleasure of meeting David at his home last year and in a nutshell, what a guy. His will and determination in life is both obvious and infectious”.
In fact, despite having such a debilitating condition, David was still having a swing on the golf course at the 2017 event. And furthermore, had it not been for an unfortunate fall ahead of last year’s event, there’s little doubt he would have been up and armed with a club on that occasion too. We all hope he has recovered sufficiently to get involved this year!
