Joerns Team Sign Up for 3 Peaks Challenge
A brave group of Joerns employees are aiming to conquer the ‘Three Peaks Charity Challenge’ in May this year.
The elite team lined up to take on the challenge consists Justyna Silcock, Lauren Tandy, Celine Tomkins, Caroline Griggs, Justin Passey, Tim Constantinidis, Andy Jefferson, Claudiu Ratu Loan and Marcin Tatarski.
The challenge, for those unfamiliar is to attempt to climb the highest peaks in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon) in ‘one go’. The target is to complete the challenge in just 24 hours!
The team will travel to Fort William for a long, demanding weekend of hiking. Starting with Ben Nevis early on Saturday morning, the team will then travel to the Lake District in order to conquer Scafell Pike overnight and finish with Snowdon the following day in Wales.
Training is well underway, with fortnightly walks scheduled to help prepare everyone for the feat. The pressure is well and truly starting to kick in! The group is having its first attempt at Snowdon soon, which will be the final mountain they take on in the main event.
The challenge is supported by qualified mountain leaders and with their help, the team will cover 26 miles total horizontal distance and 3,000m of vertical ascent!
This tall challenge is raising much needed funds for our long-standing charity partner, Acorns Children’s Hospice.
